From a Wednesday night press release from the Rock Hill Police Department, officers attempted to make a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon at about 4:15pm on one of the vehicles involved in the accident at Heckle and Crawford and the vehicle fled and was involved in the collision. The driver of that vehicle jumped and ran from the scene and officers were able to apprehend him a short time later after a foot pursuit. The individual that fled then complained of injuries he sustained in the accident, and was transported by EMS for treatment. Investigators with the Rock Hill Police will be conducting an investigation into any criminal activity that may involve the vehicle and its occupants that fled the traffic stop. The investigation into this incident will continue into the night. There were three vehicles involved in the collision and 6 patients were treated by EMS and transported to hospitals in Rock Hill and Charlotte. Rock Hill Fire Department assisted EMS on scene with patient care and also had to extricate at least one of the victims from one of the vehicles.
