Each year, thousands of jobs are added to the booming Indian Land area but they’re not the kinds of careers many locals are used to, and the offices the new workers have are wildly different from the norm.
Walking into CompuCom, the first thing that catches your eye is a three-story video wall. It allows employees to post tweets and collaborate with others.
The entire complex certainly has a young feel with a relaxed, spacious atmosphere. The building has video games, a gym and a health center.
The location of CompuCom is no fluke. Indian Land is becoming a hub for tech firms. The tech job boom is certainly not slowing down.
Red Ventures, the county’s biggest employer, is expanding from 2,000 to 3,000 workers. Movement Mortgage has 800 employees and will grow to 1,300 employees and will have a second building.
CompuCom plans to grow from 1,500 to 3,500 workers over the next seven years.
