South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency for South Carolina in regards to the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. The move allows the Governor the ability to mobilize different organizations around the state. As part of the declaration, McMaster has ordered Lancaster and Kershaw county schools to close for two weeks. The order also suspends visitation to state and local correctional facilities and activates price gouging laws. According to McMaster, he will not close any other schools at this time because the virus does not seem to be spreading elsewhere.
