31-year-old Sandra Coffey, 40-year-old Crystal Johnson and 30-year-old Demarco Frazier died and 3 others were injured early yesterday morning when a car crashed into a tree off U.S. 521 in Indian Land, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The three injured passengers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries and all three were wearing seatbelt. The southbound lanes of U.S. 521 were shut down for hours.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol has not said what may have led to the crash or if charges will be filed.
