Jim Williams, a former Rock Hill slave, Dr. William Fennell who treated York County patients regardless of skin color, Adelene White who started a Rock Hill bus boycott and Bobby Plair, one of the first African American marines were honored at the dedication of Freedom Walkway last night in the Palmetto Room in downtown Rock Hill.
The walkway was created to honor those who participated in the Frienship Nine Sit in/ The four honored last night were chosen for fighting for justice and equality.
The walkway is located on Main Street between Jimmy John’s and Five and Dine
