Winthrop founder David Bancroft Johnson will be inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame next spring, taking his place in the Hall of Fame alongside such influential S.C. figures as athlete, educator and Winthrop graduate Lucille Godbold ’22, astronaut Ronald Erwin McNair, agriculturist Eliza Lucas Pinckney and former Gov. John C. West.
Johnson will be recognized formally at the induction ceremony which will be held in spring 2017 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
