Governer Nikki Haley has issued a state of emergency and issued a mandatory medical and full evacuation of the coast of South Carolina in wake of Hurricane Matthew.
Haley says all coastal schools and government offices will close beginning tomorrow and everyone should be at least 100 miles from the coast.
Greenville county will be sending more than 200 school buses to Charleston to help get people off the coast and 712 state troopers are assigned to the event to assist evacuees.
Over a million people will be evacuated from the coast and lane reversal will begin tomorrow on I-26 with all traffic heading inland at that time. Haley encourages people to leave sooner than 3 PM tomorrow to make traffic flow easier. In addition Haley urges evacuees to stay where they are over the weekend to keep cars off the road.
More specific details on shelters will be available tomorrow.
