Five area football stars will represent the area in the the 80th annual Shrine Bowl. Rock Hill High’s Kentrell Hicks, Northwestern teammates Jerry Howard and Gage Moloney in addition to South Pointe teammates Ken’Darius Frederick and Bryson Cooper. The two selections from Northwestern were the 4th straight year that the Trojans had the maximum number allowed per team selected. In addition, Moloney becomes the 4th straight starting Trojan signal caller named to the team, joining Justin Worley (2010), Mason Rudolph (2013), and Dupree Hart (2014). Hicks was Rock Hill’s first selection since 2011. South Pointe’s selections continue the tradition of Stallion defenders selected to the annual all-star game which include: Jadeveon Clowney, Stephon Gilmore, Devonte Holloman, Gerald Dixon, Zeek Rodney, and Chris Smith in recent years.
