The University of Massachusetts has released a statement saying Winthrop Head Coach Pat Kelsey has had a change of heart and will not accept the job.
Kelsey was scheduled for a 4:00 PM press conference to be introduced as the new Head Coach of the Minutemen before the event was cancelled due to ‘unforseen circumstances.’
According to UMASS AD Ryan Bamford, Kelsey asked out of his agreement at 3:30 PM Thursday.
