According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics annual job growth for York County was more than three times the national average last fall. Employment rose 6 percent between September of 2015 compared to 2016 and York County had the highest increase of the nations 344 largest counties.
York County’s largest growth came in the professional and business services sector, which adds up to 15 percent growth and 1408 new jobs.
Paychecks in York County also grew last year. The county’s wage growth of 8.2 percent outpaced the national rate of 5.4 percent. York County’s average weekly wages now stand at $830, the 23rd-highest of the nation’s 344 largest counties.
