Speaking of SC-DHEC they have alerted York County Emergency Management about a confirmed case of West Nile virus in a Rock Hill citizen. To control the current mosquito population in the area, a contractor will be spraying for mosquitoes within a 1-mile radius of Marshall Street and East Black Street.
The spraying will begin at 10 pm Tuesday night and take 4 to 5 hours to complete. According to DHEC website, most people infected with West Nile virus have no symptoms. The risk of serious illness is low.
