Authorities are investigating after an officer-involved shooting in York County Saturday morning. It happened around 10:30 a.m. in Lesslie on Steen Circle, which is off Neely Store Road and Highway 21. Officials said a York County sheriff’s deputy was responding to a domestic violence call and fired their gun at an armed man, injuring him.
The man was taken to the hospital, but his name and condition have not been released. Authorities have not said if the man was armed at the time of the shooting. The deputy was not hurt and no other injuries were reported. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has been called to investigate, which is standard protocol following officer-involved shootings.
