One day after reporting a two month low in cases and the percent-positive, coronavirus cases increased on Friday, according to SC-DHEC. 903 new cases were reported and of the 5,751 people tested on Thursday, 15.7% tested positive. Both of those numbers are nearly double what they were on Thursday.
Coronavirus numbers are continuing to decrease on a week to week basis. 5,480 cases were reported on the week ending August 22nd and so far this week 3,860 cases have been reported this week with one more day of cases left to add.
34 of the cases were in York County, 13 were in Lancaster County and 17 were in Chester County. 23 additional confirmed deaths were also announced. The death total is 2,521.
