Richland County Common Pleas Judge Jocelyn Newman ruled in favor of private and charter schools and their lawsuit against the South Carolina High School league.
The ruling strikes down two amendments passed by the High School league back in March. The ruling means transfers to charter or private schools will not have to sit out a year.
The lawsuit alleged that the rules intentionally and illegally discriminate against private and charter schools. The SCSHL will have the opportunity to appeal.
