South Carolina set a record for the highest single day increase in confirmed coronavirus cases as SC-DHEC announced 687 new cases. 21 of the cases are from York County, 10 are from Lancaster County and 3 are from Chester County. The total number of cases since the pandemic began is 16,441.
4,791 people were tested for the coronavirus on Wednesday and 14.3% tested positive. The recovery rate for the virus remains at 80%.
13 additional deaths were also reported. 10 occurred in elderly individuals and 3 occurred in middle-aged individuals. The death total is now 588.
