The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in South Carolina has surpassed 2,000 after 132 cases were announced earlier today. The new cases include 4 more in York County (85), 2 more in Lancaster County (41) and no new cases in Chester County (12).
The death toll related to COVId-19 has reached 44 after SC-DHEC reported 4 more deaths earlier today.
These additional deaths occurred in three individuals who were elderly. Two of the three elderly patients were known to have underlying health conditions, and one is under investigation. One patient was a middle-aged individual who had underlying health conditions. The residents were from Clarendon, Horry, Beaufort and Lee counties.
