York County has canceled their special called March 30th Council meeting pushing back third and final reading of Project Avalanche to April 20th. If approved Project Avalanche would bring the Carolina Panthers new team headquarters into Rock Hill. The projected investment would be 500 million dollars and the site would create at a minimum 150 new jobs.
Council this afternoon approved an ordinance at a special called meeting that will allow them to have a virtual presence at their meeting. The virtual presence is expected to be available for both Council members and people who wish to make public comment.
Council is expected to meet one time in April, May and June, but can call a special meeting at any time. The next meeting is scheduled for April 20th. Thursday’s meeting was held at the York County Emergency operations Center.
