The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is investigating five additional cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of cases to 33.
One of the new cases is an elderly person from Lexington County who was in close contact to a previously reported case. The person is isolated in a healthcare facility.
The other four cases are from Kershaw County. Three of those cases are from middle aged individuals wdho are known contacts to a previously reported case and are currently isolated at home.
The other case is an elderly person. Invesitigation is underway and further details are not currently available.
