Required maintenance activities occurring below the Wateree hydro dam on Monday and Tuesday of next week will cause Lake Wateree’s lake level to be lower than normal.
Hydro Operations will continue to run all five hydro units to pull the lake level down to 96 ft to prepare for this work. During the maintenance work, all Wateree hydro units will be offline for the work to be completed safely.
While the hydro units are offline, the lake level will slowly rise but will not go above the full pond elevation of 100 ft. Lake Wateree’s lake level should return to the Normal Target Elevation by Friday morning, March 22
