One person died and a passenger suffered burns in a vehicle crash and fire south of Lancaster, according to published reports. The two-vehicle crash happened around 3 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 521 and Ramblin Road, said South Carolina highway patrol troopers and Lancaster County Emergency Management Director Darren Player.
The person who died was trapped in the vehicle after the crash and died after the vehicle caught fire. Lancaster County Coroner’s Office officials have not released the identity of the driver who was killed.
A passenger in the vehicle driven by the man who died was airlifted to a burn center in Augusta, Ga. The fatal wreck was the second in the area on Tuesday.
One person died in a fatal York County crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 77.
