According to a press release Saturday morning from Rock Hill City Police, Officers arrested an 18 year old South Pointe High School Student Friday morning on campus for having two hand guns and approximately ½ pound of marijuana in his car parked in the student parking lot. 18 year old Dakota Patterson was arrested while extra officers were on campus due to rumors of violence possible on campus today. As officers and school staff followed up on information and rumors during the morning, Mr. Patterson was found to have the guns on the campus. One of the guns was loaded and the other was unloaded. The York County Multi- Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit has adopted the case and the investigation is continuing. Patterson will be charged with Possession of a Stolen Pistol, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana in Proximity of a School, and Carrying a Weapon on School Grounds. During the same investigation a 17 year old female student, Willow McDonough was found to be in possession of Marijuana and was charged and booked for Simple Possession of Marijuana.Officers and staff at South Pointe worked well together all day for the safety and security of all students and faculty on campus.
