The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) advises motorists of lane and ramp closures on Interstate 77 northbound in York County beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 until 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 for bridge deck repair over the Catawba River Bridge.
A routine inspection conducted by the SCDOT York Maintenance Division earlier in the week showed concrete deteriorating on the bridge deck. While the bridge is safe for travel, the condition warrants repairs before it worsens or disrupts upcoming holiday traffic.
The three outside lanes (right lanes) will be closed at mile marker 81 (south of Cherry Road interchange) to mile marker 83 (south of Sutton Road interchange). In addition, the I-77 northbound on ramp from SC 161 north will be closed through the duration of repairs.
