On the heels of York County Council approving impact fees for residents of the Fort Mill School District earlier this week, Tega cay City Council voted this week to start charging impact fees of their own on new residential and business development.
One more vote is needed by council that will be held on August 6th. Tega Cay used the same consultant for their study as did the Fort Mill School district.
The Tega Cay study recommends the maximum amount of $6,656 for new houses and $3,827 for new apartments. Fees for non residential development would vary by size and type. The fees collected would go toward recreation, police and fire improvements.
