For the past 12 years Piedmont Medical Center has been working to build a new hospital. Piedmont has been in a battle with Atrium Health, formerly known as Carolina’s Medical Center over who is allowed to build a hospital on a piece of land in Fort Mill.
Carolina’s Healthcare filed the latest appeal on April 21st of last year and both companies have been waiting since then. Newly appointed CEO of Piedmont Medical Center Mark Nosacka said they have never been closer.
Nosacka said it is an embarrassment to everyone that this issue has been dragged out for over a decade.
