The Winthrop University athletics department announced Thursday a new strategic plan initiative that will carry the department through the year 2025, in line with the strategic plan of the overall university.
The “Winthrop Athletics Strategic Plan: Drive to ’25” presents six departmental goals, each corresponding with specific Winthrop University strategic plan goals and initiatives.
The development of the plan was led by Director of Athletics Dr. Ken Halpin and Vice President for University Relations Jeffrey Perez.
The six goals include target and stretch benchmark metrics in areas such as graduation, post-graduation job or school placement rates for student-athletes, championships, winning percentage, attendance, community outreach, revenue and staff diversity.
